Love you Sandie Jean, God Bless you and Steve always. If I was not so far, I would attend the church to watch my girl walk down the isle and start a new chapter of her life as you so deserve it.

So you've decided to make the journey up to CT for our wedding, but have no idea what to do for most of your trip. Instead of lounging about in your hotel, try getting to know the land with some fun-filled activites in CT and even in NYC.
Located at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, this is a wonderful place to explore seasonally decorated trolley cars with the family. Children can even recieve gifts from Santa! Visit December 9-11, and 16-18 from 5-8pm on Fridays, and 10:30am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Have you always wanted to visit one of the most significant monuments in the U.S? Schedule a visit to tour the Statue of Liberty, and visit the symbol of freedom of hope! Tickets are available for purchase at ellisisland.org and statuecruises.com
Experience the outdoors by visiting Central Park and the Central Park Zoo. This area is home to snow leopards, lions, and penguins. If you have children, you can take them to the children's zoo for an exciting field trip. Central Park is absolutely stunning, and you'll definetely be glad you got to visit!
Christie can't go anywhere without announcing that she's a double huskie!!!! She completed her undergraduate degree at UCONN and in 2014 graduated from their law school. She currently works as an associate for Robinson & Cole.
Nathaniel A.K.A Tani is who people often call Sandie's twin. Neither of us know why, we definitely don't look alike. Tani is currently attending nursing school and desires to teach at the undergraduate or graduate level someday.
If you thought Sandie had a lot of hairstyles, Tani has def got her beat, lol. Although Brianna gets away with the most, Tani is definitely the most spoiled... just think Tamar Braxton.
Brianna is Sandie's youngest sister and also her Goddaughter. She is currently a junior in high school. She likes to spend her free time playing lots of instruments including the piano, guitar, and violin. She also enjoys singing, dancing and acting with her high school drama club, as well as talking...A LOT. Even though Sandie hates to admit it, she is definetly the favorite sister among the family.
Pierre is Steeve's younger brother. He was born in New Jersey. He is a huge fan of the classic TV shows ( Three's Company, Family Matters, etc)...they just don't make shows like that anymore. Just like his older brother, he likes to mess around with computers.
Sara is Sandie's cousin. She was born in Turbe, Haiti. She moved in with the family in 2009. She is well known for her singing voice. It's hard to tell but she loves kids. In the future she aspires to be a pediatric nurse. She claims she can cook, but no one has tasted her food yet. lol.
Charlotte is Sandie's first cousin. She was born in Publa, Mexico and moved in with the family in 2015. She is multi-talented, skilled at playing the piano and the electric guitar. In her spare time she likes to draw, take pictures, and hone her language skills. In the future, Charlotte aspires to be a surgeon.
We have been talking about getting married for sometime now so it was just a matter of getting engaged. Anyone who knows Steeve knows he is not big into throwing big parties. He likes to keep things really simple, so I knew something was up when Steeve was suggesting I throw a little get together for my birthday in April. I must have mentioned my suspicions to my sister or mom and they got word back to him because he got me when he proposed on his birthday instead!!!!
We weren't even going to do anything special because Steeve insisted that we just save our money and put it towards the wedding. I managed to convince him to at least go to dinner and he finally agreed. What I can remember is that we were supposed to go to Dolce Cubano and when we arrived the parking lot was deserted (literally) with tumble weed blowing across the parking lot. Steeve said, something to the effect of are you sure you're at the right place and with confidence I responded yeah, they are always doing construction around here and its a Wednesday so not that many people are around. When I pulled up there was a sign that said "closed for renovation" I couldn't even look at him because I felt terrible. It was getting late and I knew my boo was getting if not already HANGRY! I told him we could go to Zaza's (one of our favorite spots) which was across town or just go to Crab Shell which was literally a minute away. Steeve was a little iffy because he had never been to crab shell but was willing to give it a try.
Since I've been blabbing way too long, we ordered dinner and when it arrived we prayed over it. We were discussing some places we had visited earlier that day. I remember mentioning something about this option would probably be the best for us and then he grabbed my hand and said matter of fact, the best gift you could ever give to me and then he got down on one knee and said is to be my wife, will you marry me?.... and I didn't respond becuase I was literally in shock and then I said yes grabbed his big head and gave him a kiss and squeezed the life out of him. I didn't finish dinner afterwards, lol. It was perfect, simple, sweet, and just for us. I loved it!
Sandie's Version: Steeve and I met at my cousin Anne's wedding. We both were a part of the wedding party. I believe we were actually originally paired to walk in together; however I found some really really cute shoes with a kitten heel and chose comfort instead of my normal 3-4 inch heels. To make a long story short, Steeve cleans up VERY nicely. I could tell he worked out because he fit his tux very well. I may have taken a couple of good looks here and there throughout the night lol. Towards the end of the reception, my sister (Christe) must of caught me eyeing Steeve and went up to him and told him to ask me to dance. As he walked towards me, my mouth got really dry and I started to silently panic. One because Kompa was playing and I have two left legs and two because deep down I'm a really shy person. Steeve asked me if I wanted to dance and I said yes. If I remember correcty we were one of either two or three couples on the dance floor, so you know everyone's eyes were on us--at least that's how it felt to me. We introduced ourselves while dancing several times because the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other. Then 30 seconds after, Steeve said "you still want to dance because I don't like this song"...................YES HE DID!
I believe my response was oh...ok. Then we walked off the dance floor. I went to my sister who greeted me with "that was quick" I just shrugged my shoulders. I had no explaination for what just happened. One song later, Steeve comes back over and asks me to dance again (I guess he really didn't like the previous song). A few songs later, he asked if I wanted to go outside of the reception hall to talk versus shouting at each other.
We spent the remainder of the reception in the lobby talking and getting to know each other. At the end of the night, we exchanged numbers. So it just happens that the weekend I met Steeve is the weekend my phone literally gave up the ghost and died on me. I told Steeve that my phone wasn't working so if I didn't respond it wasn't intentional.
The next day, right after church I went and got my phone fixed lol. I believe he called that next day, we had good conversation and a week later December 30, 2012 we had our first date at the Cheesecake Factory in New York. Things picked up from there and in March of 2013 after attending a local youth revival, Steeve asked me to be his girlfriend.
3 years later were planning a wedding!!!
I first noticed Sandie at the wedding rehearsal but I didn't think anything of it. At the wedding reception, I don't recall her sister ever talking to me. I believe I took the initiative and asked her to dance. She said she didn't dance Kompa but she was ok...just ok lol
I had a few drinks at the reception, so I don't recall (lol) saying I don't like this song and walking off the dance floor. I will admit that if I don't like a song I won't dance to it so the event Sandie shares may very well have taken place, but I will stick to the fact that I don't recall that specific moment in time.
We ended up in the lobby talking. I learned that she was Anne's cousin, a nurse, and currently in school for her Master's. We shared some basic info about each other and the conversation seemed to go very well. She seemed nice and I was interested in learning more about her so I asked for her number. All of a sudden she had some story about her phone not working........................WHAT?!?!
In my mind I was thinking she was using it as an excuse because her story about this phone was crazy (it doesn't ring, when she answers no one can hear her, the list goes on and on). I just didn't understand why she hadn't gotten a new phone but I took her number anyways thinking she was giving me a fake number.
I ended up dialing her number a few days after we met, I was expecting the operator to pick up but it was Sandie. That was the first of our many conversations. I asked her on an official date and things took off from there.
We have had our ups and downs during our 3 years together but its made our rock solid relationship what it is today. I love Sandie and can't wait to spend forever with her.
I was born in Haiti and raised there until the age of 15. When I came to the United States, I lived with my parents in Stamford, Connecticut. In Haiti, I had heard so many horror stories about kids bullying kids in school that I was afraid to attend High School. It turned out not to be so bad. After completing high school I received a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut. I currently work for Patriot Bank.
I'm known for being easy going. Most people don't believe I used to be very thin and had a headful of hair but it's true! Once I find the pics to prove it, I'll upload them!!!!
Fun Fact: I'm a bit of a computer junkie. Right now, for fun, I'll break down and put together computers but if the future kids don't wear me out, I may consider going back to school and earning a degree in computer science/networking.
I was born in Newark, New Jersey but raised in Stamford, Connecticut. I attended Pensacola Christian College and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After practicing as a nurse for several years at Stamford Hospital, I went to Fairfield University and completed my Master’s in Nursing. I currently work at Yale New Haven Hospital.
I am the oldest of five girls...so I am the typical oldest sibling and I know that without a doubt my sisters LOVE me and think I'm the BEST sibling ever. While I love being the oldest (sometimes), I am not a fan of how much they get away with...so not fair
Fun Fact: Most people think I spend fortunes on clothes just becuase I love to shop. Truth is, although I do shop alot, I'm the biggest bargain shopper out there!!!! One time I walked out of Banana Republic with an amazing skirt for $4.03 (the original price was $168 or something like that). I love a good sale!!!!
